Kayser joins the BioBox project
During the BioBox Critical Design Review, Kayser Italia takes responsibility for the control and data acquisition electronics, power supply and electronics housing. It also contributes to parts of the EGSE and the safety documentation. This is an important step: the company broadens its role, applying its electronics expertise to the development of an experimental platform intended for use on several missions.
Space changes alongside geopolitics
1991 is the year of the dissolution of the Soviet Union. The Biopan programme takes shape at a time of profound political transformation, which also changes the context in which Kayser has built its contacts and is preparing to develop new space partnerships.

Compton observes the Universe in gamma rays
NASA launches the Compton Gamma Ray Observatory, a space observatory dedicated to studying the Universe in gamma rays. It is one of the largest scientific payloads placed in orbit up to that point and the second of the four observatories in NASA’s Great Observatories programme.
