First deliveries for ARIEL’s Instrument Control Unit
Kayser builds the hardware models of the Instrument Control Unit (ICU) intended for ARIEL, together with the boot software and Board Support Package. By September, a representative board and an initial version of the low-level software are delivered. The company thus contributes to the control electronics of ESA’s scientific mission dedicated to studying exoplanets.

Chandrayaan-3 reaches the lunar south pole
India achieves its first controlled lunar landing and becomes the first country to successfully reach the Moon’s high southern latitudes.

Missions & Payloads

BIOFILMS MISSION 3
Third campaign of the ESA-Biofilms programme, dedicated to studying bacterial biofilm formation in space and the effectiveness of antimicrobial metal surfaces. The experiment compares biofilm growth under different gravitational conditions and assesses materials, particularly steel and copper-based alloys, potentially useful for limiting microbial contamination in future space habitats.

SpaceX CRS-28
Dragon capsule cargo mission to the International Space Station. It delivers experiments, supplies and a pair of iROSA solar arrays and returns scientific samples to Earth.

ARED-K
Experiment dedicated to studying the biomechanics of exercises performed by astronauts using the Advanced Resistive Exercise Device (ARED). The name derives from ARED Kinematics. The system collects kinematic data during training to better understand the loads on muscles, bones and joints in microgravity and improve exercise prescription. The Politecnico di Milano experiment is developed by Kayser Italia with ESA support.

SpaceX CRS-27
Dragon capsule cargo mission to the International Space Station. It transports experiments, hardware, supplies and scientific materials intended for the orbital laboratory’s activities.
